One of the best techniques i get my clients to use for anxious/ stressful thoughts, SELF ENQUIRY
Follow these steps
✨Ask yourself what are the stressful thoughts ( write them all down )
✨Ask yourself which ones are true / factually based ( not what if’s or a narrative you’ve made up)
✨For those that are true, what can you do about it? What can you action now to impact it? What can you learn from it? What can you do differently next time?
✨For those that are not factually true then these are just thoughts. You CAN control your thoughts but an idle mind will go into overdrive so harness it. What are you doing to strengthen your emotional intelligence? Can you do something that gives it purpose ( as simple as being productive around the house ) or something that will allow it to grow intellectually ( read a book, learn a new hobby, listen to a podcast )?
IMPORTANT TO NOTE if you’re not conscious of your thoughts and you’re not mentally active then you will loose control of those thoughts resulting in thoughts that do not serve you
