What incredible sad news it was to hear that Michael Payne has passed away today and the young age of 45.
Michael was the father of Sarah Payne who was abducted and killed by a paedophile in 2000.
Michael struggled to cope understandably with the death of his daughter and unfortunately turned to drink and died after a long battle with alcoholism. Michael never sought nor was ever offered any assistance with bereavement counselling.
If you know anyone who is grieving no matter the circumstances surrounding the death encourage them to talk and get help.
